Well, it is very simple.

The world is our subconsciousThe world around us gives us experiences that are precise embodiments of what we hold in our subconscious minds. Walking in the world is like walking in our subconscious. If we change what we hold in our inner subconscious, the experiences that we have in its reflection in the world will change too.

When we go into our inner subconscious, at first there are all the new things that we recently left there, unattended. Then there are childhood wracks of unfinished businesses, and these are buzzing with activity that we do not see, like the inner programs of a computer, determining how everything else in the computer works. And then there are deeper activities that are more subtle and hard to detect. These are deep tendencies that brought about the childhood wracks. And if we go even deeper than these, we find our way to what is common to all of us. And right after that we see that all of the above is just a dream. The dream emanates from the ground of all that we cannot define, but we feel as love. We are it. And we are the emanation too.

In order for the dream to dispel we need to be in the energy of that ground of all. But usually we do not dispel the dream all at once. We dispel it part by part, one inner hidden belief at a time.

So let’s look at the mind for a moment. The conscious part is not a problem. We know what is there. We can decide to think or not to think something. The problem is the subconscious mind, because we do not know what is there. Why would it be a problem? Because what is thinking itself there determines how we live, what we like and dislike, how we respond to circumstances and how we feel. These hidden programs in the subconscious are the cause of our emotional suffering, or what we call our psychological difficulties. I want to mention that not only psychological difficulties cause us to suffer. Spiritual issues also cause us to suffer. In a simple way I can say that when we are aligned with our uniqueness and attuned to our inner truth, we feel good. When we are not aligned with that, we feel bad. This is also an emotional suffering. The inner truth is not something static. It is a stream of creation.

So we do want to decipher all of these things in us and dissolve what we do not need in our subconscious. When we do so, automatically we become more open and clear, and it starts to be easy and natural for us to listen to our inner truth and to allow it to flow into the world, which is how we express who we are.

We cannot dispel any thought processes in our subconscious through thinking. Our thoughts emanate from those hidden thought patterns in our subconscious, with its different depths. They will not allow us to delete them. It is as if we try to delete from a computer a program that we use at the same time. If we try, we will get a message:  “The program cannot be deleted because it is being used.”

The whole field of energy healing, which has always been around, but is also the newest, most effective healing approach nowadays, is based on this understanding: In order to heal our suffering we need to dissolve subconscious thought patterns that create our suffering. In order to dissolve them we have to be in a deeper state than thoughts and emotions. We need to be in a state where thoughts and emotions cannot have an influence.

And every modality of energy healing is based on having found a way to access the subconscious mind and dissolve patterns of thought there. Some modalities change energy patterns instead of thoughts, but thoughts and energy patterns are connected and when you change one, you change the other.

So here we come to my modality, called: Intuitive Flow. I say it is my modality because it came to me and it is on me to give it to the world. Maybe there is someone else who had been given the same modality and I do not know about him or her yet. When I give this method to you and you accept it, it will be your modality too. This is the purpose of this blog.

In its basic form I have used this modality all my life, quite spontaneously. Then, after becoming an art therapist I started using it to help others for quite a while, and during this time the method has evolved and got enriched with the experience that accumulated. I think I can say a rare thing for a therapist: There was not even one person who came to work with me, who did not benefit from this way of working in a deep and permanent way. You can read a few testimonials on my website: www.PsychotherapyThroughArt.com

For the last five years I have suffered from a severe chronic nerve pain in my foot. After the medical establishment failed to find a way to cure me, I became interested in energy medicine. I went to several healers. I learned and took some courses, and practiced quite intensely one of them for three years. It was during this time that I discovered that my method is energy healing too. I am an art therapist but I use art-making in an energy healing way, because it is much more effective than the way art therapy is being practiced usually. Then I decided to make only one method, my method, into the main approach that I should use to cure myself. It was a natural decision to make and I am very happy for having made it. It does not mean that I do not also use other modalities, like Theta Healing, Quantum Touch or EFT sometimes. It means that my method is the basis on which my healing happens. It is the way for me to see where my subconscious is and what is happening there. It is my grounding. And it is what creates the main changes and where I see the changes happen. So for the last year I have been working on myself quite intensely, using mainly my own method. It is this work process that this blog presents. I still have my pain. Hopefully, in this blog you will see my healing completed.

The most important aspect of my work is that it has to be intuitive. I use intuitive flow in art making to be connected to the ground of all and to easily discover subconscious content, and I use intuitive flow to dissolve what needs to be dissolved. How to create an intuitive flow is explained in my website. When an inner, hidden belief is dissolved, the mind becomes more open and clear, as I wrote before, and there is space for more intuition to come. My intuitive flow is who I am in action. And so it is for you. And as we all dissolve more and more of our hidden operating systems of the mind, we all get closer to the purity of the ground of all. So this healing method is also a path to freedom.

I welcome you to my blog. If you like the method, you are invited to make it yours. You don’t have to be an artist. Most of the people I worked with were not artists. But as they worked with the method, their art-works became clearer and clearer and presented uncanny beauty.

I’ll explain more in my regular posts, which will include drawings and writing.

See you there.

With love,

Giora Carmi

    Hi Giora,
I just finished reading your blog. You told it like IT IS. You put it all down and it’s the truth. And it’s very simple. The more difficult part is interpreting it, I think. That takes more practice. It means getting more comfortable with intuition as a knower of the truth. I know it has taken me a long time to get to the point of trusting that voice. You have helped me a lot to do that. thank you for having the courage to do this,
    looking forward to more,
    Carol

Dear Giora, I really liked reading your blog and also the detailed part on the
subconscious mind and that we don’t know what is going on in there.

“The problem is the subconscious mind, because we do not know what is there. Why would it be a problem? Because what is thinking itself there determines how we live, what we like and dislike, how we respond to circumstances and how we feel.”

And that the latest modality is closer to Theta brain waves since this surpasses the mind and emotions. Very interesting and informative information. I am fascinated with the subconscious mind and Jungian work. Its so deep and relevant and meaningful work. I love the process of understanding all this myself but am also interested in integrating these aspects into my work as well. it is deep and profound work because it does make one happy than not doing the work.

I honor and valua your work profoundly Giora.

    With Love,
    anna

Dear Giora, Thank you for your blog and your work as an art therapist. I love your approach to helping others honor themselves more deeply. I can see there is a great deal of power in the way you have others approach their art their art as coming from within themselves and not needing to meet the expectations of others. I have just discovered your glorious blog and find it so inspirational. Have you ever experienced Guided Imagery and Music? I have found it to be a wonderful complement to painting and drawing mandalas as meditative healing. Thanks so much for sharing your creative, healing process with myself and others so that we may be inspired by it.

Thank you. Your blog is beautiful too. I had a chance to experience a little bit of guided imagery when Francis Clifton gave a presentation in NY and lead us in two exercises. I love it and think it is avery good instrument for healing and growth.

Hi Giori, Your foot pain reminds me of my own. The ball of my right foot sometimes feels excrutiatingly painful! Usually it hurts when my shoes are too tight and I have been driving for an extended length of time. I try to wear really comfortable shoes when driving and that helps. I have found that I am much happier now that I don’t frequent Art Therapy Alliance! I really prefer to interact with artists😊 I hope you are well. Best, Margaret

Hi Margaret, Yes, you know about pain too. Mine is from Peripheral Neuropathy, which is the degeneration of nerve endings. The nerves loose their insulation and touch the body directly without protection. It is interesting that because there is no insulation, the electrical current that goes through the nerves is lost to the environment in the body and the mind interprets this as no feeling, or numbness. But at the same time the part of the nerves that transmits pain remains intact and delivers the message of pan to the mind. So you have both numbness and pain in the same areas. The doctors say that this disease never heals and only gets worse gradually. But I know that everything physical starts in the mind. The mind in its deepest meaning contains the commands for the body to suffer in this specific way. And because of this knowledge I also know that it is possible to reverse this process through this mind. Specifically through the deeper parts that include the instructions of how to run this body.
I have not participated in the forums for a while too, and this is due to the same loss of orientation that I described above. For now I am more interested in this process that I am going through than in the different issues in the forums.
    Love,
    Giora

      Hi Linda,
Thank you so much. It makes me feel wonderful to know that the work that we did together was fruitful. I always felt good when we did the work. You were so courageous to look at things that did not feel good, and to transform yourself through the work.
      Much love,
      Giora
