376. On the river of me

On the river of me

The sun here and there,
The trees, the fields, the lakes,
Some grass, some earth,
A friend, a flower,
A cloud, a bird, a song
And the longing in my heart
As I float
On the river
Of me.

358.The backyards of the universe

Is it a mountain
Or the roof of a barn?

Is this a cloud
Or a smoking chimney?

And this,
Is this a man
With a bird in his hand?

What does he think about?

Do his thoughts
Dive in the sky?

And the drop of green
That fell on the face of the paper,
Why did it fall?

Can this drop be another world
With other people and birds?

Why don't they come closer
To shake hands with us
To have tea
And talk about our lives?

And can the children
Go out and play together
In the backyards
Of the universe?

338. Goodbye Mom

There is fire in my feet

But I am dancing

And lifting my heavy heart

A bird comes out from my head

Another bird is kissing me

I see my mom resting

On a big pink cloud

I am ready to sail on the river now

To pass the pasture

And come to my new playing field

I am quiet

I am strong

I only do what feels good to me

I am free.

215. A bird came

A bird came

A bird came

For a while animals have been sneaking into my drawings. My drawings were supposed to be abstract but the animals insisted. And now this bird came. I know what it means. A children’s book wants to come into my world.

153. Right behind it is you

Upside down moon

Upside down moon

In this upside down world

Where shame is king

And the beauty of the evening moon

Breaks your heart

Isn’t it natural

That we choose to make art?

There is a mountain range up in the sky

And there is a mountain range down

We are just waiting for the bird

To sit on a bough

The bird who’ll come to laugh at me

For going again

In the same old rout.

This is about automatic behavior. An old program kicks in. You find yourself angry at someone and afraid. You desperately seek your connection to the eternal, but the subtle and kind all-that-is will never push his way in. You have to open the gate.

And you have done just this so many times already, but there is still some more. And right behind it, lo and behold, right behind it is You.
